Our Story | Where it all began....
Funky Lizard was created by cousins Rachel and Katie, two very different creatives brought together by family, artistry, and a shared refusal to blend in (seriously, we’ve never been good at that).The name means everything to us. Our gran never left the house without her iconic lizard brooch, her signature, her power piece, her quiet statement of confidence. Funky Lizard is our way of carrying that energy forward, her boldness, her individuality, her presence, in everything we create.
Together, we’re organised chaos. Precision meets “let’s see what happens.” Somehow it works… and we wouldn’t have it any other way. By day, we’re both in the corporate world doing our actual jobs, and by night (and mostly weekends), we’re covered in clay, ideas, and a bit of chaos building Funky Lizard. It might be a side hustle for now, but it’s our favourite one.

Katie is the chaotic creative. The “what happens if we just try this?” energy. A little bit rebellious, a little bit unpredictable, and absolutely not here to play it safe. If it’s bold, unexpected, and slightly pushing the limits, that’s Katie.
